How to help

JCR-UK - YOUR HELP WANTED

Jewish Communities and Records (JCR-UK) is a joint project between JGSGB and JewishGen to record genealogical and historical information concerning the Jewish communities of the United Kingdom.

We are always looking for contributors who are prepared to participate in the JCR-UK project by either supplying data (genealogical & local Jewish community history): coordinating the supply of data by others: transcribing or indexing.

If you are able to help please let us know the district or town or city or county or region that particularly interests you.

Data Coordingating involves enlisting others in your area who would be prepared to find and collect data concerning:

  • Local synagogues and their congregations with a potted history, contact details and photographs. Records from their registers of marriages and deaths
  • Jewish museums and memorials - description, contact details and photographs
  • Cemeteries - addresses and contact details. Records of those interred or details from the tombstones
  • Anything else of Jewish interest. Photographs would also be appreciated.

All of us involved with JCR-UK sincerely hope that you will agree to become part of this important venture.
